I'm thrilled to finally announce the launch of my latest project: Inkblot Arts!
I know what you're thinking - isn't this site Inkblot Arts? Well, this blog is still, as it's always been, my space for personal reflection on my own writing and on the relationship between writing and social change. This is now known as the home of MZJ Words, the source for words flowing through me, Maisha Z. Johnson. I'm still here!
But Inkblot Arts as a resource for creative action has moved to www.inkblotarts.org. That site is now home to my services in Writing & Editing, Training & Facilitation, Workshops & Curriculum Design, and Speaking. I've pulled my passions and skills together in one place to elevate my efforts to make a positive impact in the communities I care about.
I want to thank you for sticking with you through this evolution. Some of you have been with me since the very beginning, when I began my first blog, before I even had a grasp on who I was as a writer. There, I shared some weird personal fiction, considered what it meant to identify as queer artist, and asked the ever-important question, "What the hell am I writing?" And, perhaps in spite of these posts, you stayed with me.
Then I came here. My blog became even more personal, and I shared my jitters over some of my very first readings, my grief over loss, and my joy over life victories. Sometimes, I posted daily, and you didn't get sick of me. Sometimes, I posted rarely, and you didn't abandon me.
And I can't tell you enough how much your support has meant to me. It's helped inspire me with the courage I need to take the bold, terrifying leap of following my heart toward the life I dream of living. I'm proud to say that I'm living the values I believe in, writing the words of my voice, and working to make the impact I hope for.
And I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you!
I can't wait to see where our journey together leads us next.
