I wrote a blog post once about crossing lines to get all people of color involved in immigration rights movements. This is what I think (and hope) is happening now, at events like these -- people of all colors, queer people and people of all genders speaking out for immigrant rights. The rally protests S-Comm, a dangerous fingerprinting program that threatens immigrant communities and hurts people like survivors of violence and queer folks.
In moments like these we can't ignore the intersections we share, the ones that make life so that any one of our struggles lands upon all of our shoulders. We can bear this together.
